| SCULPTURED paintings by ROLLEY BATEMAN III |
| " “TREES SHELTER US FROM THE STORMS THEY TEACH US BEAUTY GROWS WITH AGE THEY GIVE US THE AIR WE BREATH THEY EXPLODE IN COLORS WE NEVER THOUGHT POSSIBLE THE NATURE OF TREES REMINDS US THAT THERE ARE BIGGER THINGS IN LIFE THEN US” SCULPTURED PAINTINGS COMBINING PAINTING, IMPASTO AND SCULPTURE IN A CONTEMPORARY APPROACH TO LANDSCAPE PAINTING ARTIST STATEMENT My paintings are lush landscapes featuring SCULPTURED PAINTINGS ( heavy dimensional impasto), with a road or path theme exploring the majesty of trees. I combine both paintbrush and pallet knife techniques, along with various other painting objects, with sculpture and carving to enhance the richly textured canvas. The brilliant layers of colors and vibrant contrast create a calm, serene, effect with an emphasis using a very contemporary approach. My paintings invite you to be inspired by the metaphor of the mystery and the journey of life and offer a spiritual retreat to the viewer. 3-dimensional texture not only enhances the boldness of the paint but also allows the external light to impact upon my paintings. |

| Nature is very much like us We reach for goals at heights as do the trees that don't give up reaching for the heavens With non-organic boundaries the trees have to branch out and overcome the struggle of a grilled Iron fence as do we when there are walls put up against us, forcing to not see days at all, until we fight to see the sunlight then are we only able to grow shaking off our dead withered leaves like trees.
